Description
After the students of the 3rd Division Jungle Training School successfully assaulted and captured Bivouac Knoll, they consolidated their positions in preparation for a counter-attack. Portrait of QX51714 Lieutenant Francis Valerius Hill, of Toowoomba Qld, 5th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Division, instructs the students, both officers and NCOs, in the handling of a grenade discharger, which is used with the Lee-Enfield .303 rifle. The grenade discharger fires both four and seven second grenades, the application is varied which makes it particularly useful in the dense jungle.
