Description
A German messenger dog, probably Roff (or 'Digger' as he was named by the Australian troops) captured at Villers-Bretonneux, by Corporal M Roach and Private R Conway, of the 13th Battalion. It is harnessed to a cart made by the 13th Battalion Pioneers. Roff's stuffed and mounted skin is now in the Australian War Memorial's collection. Guns in rear were captured by the Battalion at Hamel on 4 July 1918.
