A photograph of a ghastly sight in a shell crater near Zonnebeke, in the Ypres Sector, showing the body of a youthful German who lost his life in no man's land, during the attack by the Australian troops at Broodseinde Ridge on 4 October 1917. The lower half of this image was used in a composite photograph produced by Frank Hurley, Official War Photographer, a print of which is held at P02514.001.
