Description
Dieppe, France. 19 August 1942. A burning LCT (Landing Craft, Tank) TLC-5 No. 121 used to land Canadian tanks of the 14th Army Tank Battalion (The Calgary Regiment (Tank)) on the beach at Dieppe after the raid by allied (mostly Canadian) air, naval and land forces on German defences. Although it unloaded its tanks, accurate mortar and artillery fire wiped out the crew of the LCT. Originally captioned: Nach dem Gefecht! Dieppe 19.8.42. (Donor: E. Rickinson)
