Description
Aerial view of Lai Khe, South Vietnam. The runway was made of aluminium matting. The area around the base had been cleared for miles by large bulldozers (roam ploughs) to deny the enemy cover. Lai Khe was the headquarters of the US 1st Infantry Division and where a few Australian forward air controllers (FACs) were based.
