1941. PORT BOW VIEW OF THE DESTROYER HMAS NIZAM ENTERING A MEDITERRANEAN PORT. A 4INCH MARK V GUN ON A MARK III HIGH ANGLE MOUNTING HAS REPLACED THE AFTER BANK OF TORPEDO TUBES. HER CLOSE RANGE ARMAMENT CONSISTS OF A QUADRUPLE 2 POUNDER AA MOUNTING ABAFT THE FUNNEL, QUADRUPLE .5 INCH VICKERS AA MACHINE GUNS BESIDE THE BRIDGE SUPERSTRUCTURE AND SINGLE 20 MM OELIKON AA GUNS PORT AND STARBOARD JUST FORWARD OF THE SEARCHLIGHT PLATFORM. A TYPE 286 RADAR AERIAL IS FITTED AT THE MASTHEAD. THE SHIP IS PAINTED IN A LIGHT ADMIRALTY ALTERNATIVE INTERMEDIATE CAMOUFLAGE SCHEME. (NAVAL HISTORICAL COLLECTION)
