Sullivan, Ronald Eugene (Private)
Description
Collection relating to the service of Private Ronald Eugene Sullivan of the Australian Army Service Corps, No. 1 Company. This collection consists of a prayer book which belonged to Private Sullivan who was a prisoner of war at Sandakan Prisoner of War Camp in North Borneo. Private Sullivan died as a prisoner of the Japanese on 31 March 1945. Sullivan's prayer book was used by one of the chaplains for evening prayers in the camp. The chaplain was transferred to Kuching Prisoner of War Camp in 1943 and eventually carried the prayer book back to Australia.
