Studio portrait of NX25928 Gunner (Gnr) Clement Eugene (Clem) Mason, 2/3rd Tank Attack Regiment. He enlisted in Paddington, NSW on 17 June 1940 and after training at Ingleburn, NSW and Holsworthy, NSW, he embarked for the Middle East in January 1941. He returned to Australia in 1942, retrained for jungle warfare and was sent to New Guinea where he died of illness on 19 January 1944.
