Perryman, Duncan John (Lieutenant, b.1963)
Description
Collection relating to the International Force East Timor (INTERFET) service of Warrant Officer Yeoman Signals (later Lieutenant) Duncan John (John) Perryman, Royal Australian Navy, 1999-2000.
The collection consists of three emails Warrant Officer Yeoman Signals John Perryman sent to friends and colleagues between November 1999 and January 2000 while he was serving as Staff Officer to the Naval Component Commander, INTERFET. He describes his work, routine, visits by Prime Minister John Howard and the Chief of the Defence Force, and recommends the dispatch of a team from the Australian War Memorial to collect artefacts and record the history of the deployment. See AWM2019.306.1 for other material related to Perryman's service with INTERFET.
