INTERFET 1 MSU T-shirt : Sergeant W J Guthrie, RAAF, 1 Media Support Unit
INTERFET 1 Media Support Unit (1 MSU) light brown T-shirt. A comical unit logo consisting of a heraldic-style shield emblazoned with a pair of wings, the head of a bird, a commercial-grade video camera, and a dagger, underscored with `FORT ALAMO', are printed on the left breast. The unit's motto `FIRST TO GO LAST TO KNOW' is below this on a scroll. `EAST TIMOR 99' is printed on the right sleeve. The manufacturer's label inside the collar is comical too. Inconspicuously embroidered on the front is `NOT TESTED ON TOO MANY ANIMALS' and on the back, where washing instructions are usually found, `GO TO THE HEAD OF THE CLASS ! / YOU ACTUALLY LOOKED FOR THE WASHING INSTRUCTIONS'.
Associated with A232657 Sergeant William John Guthrie, RAAF, who served in East Timor with INTERFET's 1 Media Support Unit during 1999.
