Wallace Alfred Eves, as an able seaman, RAN ships corvette HMAS Bendigo, destroyer HMAS Queenborough and frigate HMAS Barwon, North Pacific Area and Eastern Australian Waters, 1942–1946, interviewed by John Roberts

Wally Eves talks about his early life in Coogee; his service in the Army as a gun layer; his discharge on medical grounds and enlistment into the Navy; the journey to the Flinders Naval Depot; basic training and advanced training as an Asdic operator; travelling to Cairns to join HMAS Bendigo; being in action during escort duties between Milne Bay and Oro Bay; escort duties off the east coast of Australia and in the North Pacific Area; brief spells of duty aboard HMAS Barwon and HMAS Queenborough; surviving a typhoon aboard the Bendigo; his discharge from the Navy and return to civilian life; marriage and family life; housing; his subsequent career and transfer to Western Australia;
