A parade for athletes competing at the UN Olympic games, an event held in Phnom Penh's 1963 Olympic Stadium on 17 January 1993. Organised by the Australian contingent of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC), the games drew 600 partisipants from 18 countries. The piper is identified as Salvation Army Chaplain Gordon Watson. From April 1992 the Australian Force Communications Unit (FCU) contingent of UNTAC were based in Phnom Penh. Smaller contingents were scattered throughout Cambodia as communications support for all the other UNTAC military contingents, having established a communications network throughout Cambodia where none previously existed. The FCU was drawn from 75 different military units from within Australia and New Zealand.
