Description
Head and shoulders portrait of Flight Lieutenant John Aloysius Siebert DFC (service no.36155) wearing the flight uniform leather helmet with protective ear muffs and a fur lined jacket. Squadron leader J.A.Siebert was reportedly killed in action in a flight mission near Bakel (near Helmond) on 28 March 1941. This drawing was reproduced in the in the 1942 publication, 'R.A.F: war pictures by British artists'.
