Description

Beretta Model 38A sub-machine gun. Tubular construction receiver with a drilled barrel cover and a top cut compensator at the muzzle. Full wood one piece stock that has two finger grooves to each side of the fore end and a straight sling bar inset into the left side of the butt. A single barrel band with a sling swivel secures the fore stock to the barrel. The stock has been repaired at the wrist with a screw bolt. It has a double trigger mechanism for semi and automatic fire. The receiver top is engraved MOSCHETTO AUT-BERETTA MOD.1938 A-PATENT BREVETTO No 828-428 GARDONE V.T.-ITALIA, the royal coat of arms and the serial number. A large eagle coat of arms is stamped into the right side of the butt. Complete with a 40 round magazine.

This weapon is the first model 38A sub-machine gun issued to the Italian Army and was captured at Tobruk.
