The company sign for the combined United Sates Army and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) unit ...
Description
The company sign for the combined United Sates Army and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) unit (probably at Blackhorse) in Vietnam. The combined base was the result of a decision to allow RAN personnel to operate with the 135th Aviation Company of the United States Army. It was originally stationed at Vung Tau, then moved to the Blackhorse base in December 1967 before moving to Bearcat in November 1968. Due to its integrated nature, the unit was designated an `experimental military unit', hence the nickname `Emu' as can be seen on this sign. The motto for the unit was `Get the bloody job done'.
