Description
Korea. 18 March 1954. Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Vedat-Garan, Turkish Commander, and Brigadier (Brig) Kemal Akkurt, Commanding Officer of the Turkish Brigade, visited 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), and were met by a guard of honour commanded by Captain A M Salter of Launceston, Tas. They are seen here inspecting the band. The band members are, from left to right : Private (Pte) N Hillier (face partially showing, body obscured by Brig Kemal Akkurt), Pte V Otway, Corporal (Cpl) G Prince, Pte E Giles, Pte J Farnham, Pte J Campbell and Pte G Ganfield (playing the bass drum).
