AWM38 3DRL 6673/1009 - [Official History, 1914-18 War: Records of Charles E W Bean, Official Historian:] C E W Bean photograph collection: photograph album of France, mainly the Fromelles Area
AWM38 3DRL 6673/1009 - Album of 108 pages (including inside covers) containing 46 photographs covering research conducted by Charles Bean. The album appears to be research conducted by the Australian Historical Mission, primarily in November 1919 in France (Fromelles region). The photographs are drawn from the ‘E’ official photograph series. The album is extensively captioned, with almost every image accompanied by caption with descriptive text. Many of the images include dates and location information. Some of the images have been cut and pasted together to make panoramic spreads. Some images also have hand written notes accompanying them, generally with location and occasionally with photographic image details (such as photographer and film details).
