Description
Gunners from 108 Battery, 4th Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA), hammer away at Viet Cong positions with their 105mm howitzer during operation Paddington, the massive allied offensive in Vietnam’s Phuoc Tuy province. Thousands of Australian, New Zealand, American and Vietnamese troops are engaged on the operation – the largest yet conducted against the Viet Cong in the province. Identified are: at left 3411733 Gunner (Gnr) Kenneth Marchant; at right 5411693 Gnr Darryl W Cooper. At centre is possibly 2412508 Gnr Barry Tregear. Gnr Tregear was killed during an action in Phuoc Tuy Province on 5 November 1967.
