A cross and stones mark the grave in the Fayid War Cemetery, Plot 1, Row G, Grave 17, of 400802 Sergeant Edmund McArthur Hyde, RAAF, of No. 1 Aircraft Despatch Unit RAF, who died 10 February 1942. He was the son of Victor Edmund and Margaret Jean Hyde of Deniliquin, NSW. Fayid is a town, 20 kilometres south of Ismailia.
