North Korea. c November 1950. Major E Robertson of Surrey Hills, Vic (left seated on jeep), of the Salvation Army, brings tea and biscuits to unidentified members of B Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). The refreshments are a rare and welcome luxury for the troops on the front lines. One soldier, with a newspaper under his arm, kneels and pours himself a mug of tea from a large metal urn on the ground. The jeep has the words 'SALVATION ARMY' painted below the front windows.
