Description

Western Desert, Egypt. 10 November 1942. A bren gunner whose duty is to cover riflemen as they advance, awaits the order to move forward to a new position. Men of the RAF regiment were among the first to arrive at the Daba and Fuka airfields when the British land forces took these advanced bases of Rommel's air striking force. Soldiers of the RAF rounded up more than 200 prisoners of war (POWs), most of whom were Germans, badly shaken in the terrific Allied air attacks.
