Vung Tau, Vietnam. c 1966. A group of Australian and US soldiers in a boat at Vung Tau jetty, prior to their departure to a rural area of Vung Tau to set up a Medical Civil Aid Project (MEDCAP) clinic. Identified are, standing: A55472 Sergeant Douglas (Doug) Oliver, RAAF, a medical orderly (foreground), the Principal Air Chaplain (left), Jerry W, Bob, a US Army medic, and A221951 Anthony Michael (Tony) Reynolds-Huntley, an RAAF cook (right). Sitting, left to right: O43394 Ian 'Doc" Favilla, RAAF (holding a beer can), Mike Chapman (probably O56051 Pilot Officer Michael Arthur Chapman, RAAF), and Ron Jones, an Australian medic (wearing a hat). There are three unidentified Vietnamese men sitting in the background. Note the containers on the boat, one has a kangaroo in an outline of Australia painted on it and the other has a red cross.
