Description
HEAVY ANTI AIRCRAFT GUNS MANNED BY QUEENSLANDERS FIRING DURING THE BATTERY'S FIRST SHOOT WITH LIVE ROUNDS. THE TARGET, TOWED BY A PLANE, WAS HIT WITH THE THIRD ROUND. CIVILIANS WHO ENLISTED IN THE V.D.C. TO RELEASE TROOPS FOR THE FRONT LINE COMPRISED THE BATTERY PERSONNEL. THEY PROVED THEIR STANDARD AT ANTI AIRCRAFT BATTERY EFFICIENCY WAS EQUAL TO THAT OF MANY FULL TIME SERVICE UNITS.
