NEW GUINEA. MOUNT TAMBU. ONE OF THE GUNS OF AN AMERICAN BATTERY IN NEW GUINEA, FIRING AT TARGETS ON MOUNT TAMBU AND THE KOMIATUM TRACK. THESE GUNS WERE CARRIED IN PARTS OF 100 TO 250 POUNDS WEIGHT, OVER THE PRECIPITOUS LABABIA RIDGE FROM NASSAU BAY. FREQUENTLY THE GRADES WERE ONE IN ONE. (NEGATIVE BY G. SHORT).
