Description

A khaki drill uniform is an unusual sight on an Australian sailor, who is part of the RAN's commitment in Vietnam. The RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV) is serving in Vietnam, attached to the US Army 135th Assault Helicopter Company. Here two members of RANHFV work on the construction of a hut Black Horse base, near Xuan Loc, South Vietnam. One of the men is Lieutenant David Alan Cronin. The base was originally at Vung Tau, but moved in December 1967.
