Vic. Paybook photograph of VX35372 Private Alexander Robert Gunn, 2/6th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Gunn, aged 19, died on 6 September 1941, as a Prisoner of War (POW), after being captured defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of Alexander James Gunn and Annie Edith Gunn, of Sunnycliffs, Vic. He is buried in the Durnbach War Cemetery, Germany, Section 4, Row B, Plot 14.
