Vic. Paybook photograph of VX28691 Private Alfred John Stewart Lancashire, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Lancashire, aged 21, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 29 May 1941. He was the son of Claude Alfred and Eileen Stewart Lancashire, of North Caulfield, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11.
