Cairo, Egypt. c. 1944. Repatriated AIF prisoners of war (POWs) from Germany gathered at a reception for them in Cairo. They will soon board a ship bound for Australia. They were exchanged for German prisoners in our hands and travelled through Germany on a hospital train to Marseilles, there embarking on the sea voyage to Barcelona where the exchanges were effected under the auspices of a neutral.
