Description
Certificates for awards and associated records relating to the service of 154 Captain John Thomas Hynes (15th Battalion), comprising: three certificates relating to his award of Distinguished Service Order (DSO) (Army Orders and a related message of congratulations from General Rawlinson, and a certificate signed by King George V) (1919); one certificate relating to his Mentioned in Despatches (MID) (1919); a commission for his appointment as a Captain in the Military Forces (1922). He was awarded the DSO for action during operations at Jeancourt, France, on 18 September 1918. He also received the Military Medal for service as a stretcher at Gallipoli, and the Serbian Cross Karageorge and Class (with Swords) for service in France.
