Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Dave Powell, 40, of Holland Park, Qld, holds up a piece of mortar bomb shrapnel the size of a cigarette filter, which wounded him while on operations with South Vietnamese soldiers in the northern most section of South Vietnam. WO2 Powell, a member of the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), is pictured in the US Army's 18th Surgical Hospital, based just outside Quang Tri City, where he had the fragment removed from his leg.
