Cairo, Egypt. 1915. Informal group portrait of a company of the 8th Battalion, 1st Expeditionary Force, taken in front of a pyramid. All the men have rifles, with the exception of two buglers (sitting on the ground in the front row, fifth and seventh from left), and the man standing to attention in the centre of the front row, who is probably the Commanding Officer.
