Murchison, Australia. 11 March 1945. German prisoners of war (POWs) interned in B Compound, No. 13 POW Group, are seen visiting the grave of a comrade who died in captivity and is buried in Murchison Cemetery. They were allowed to visit the cemetery on the occasion of their National Heroes Day celebrations. The photograph also shows graves of other prisoners of war who died in captivity. Some of the names on the graves are: Francesco Ferrari, Giovanni Cabrini, Guiseppe Mastroieni, Antonio Colletti, Emilio Candolfo.
