South Vietnam. June 1970. Gunner Kerry Taheny of Edithburgh, SA, of the 106th Field Battery, burns a hole through the bamboo to make the stem of a smoker's pipe. He is attached to A Company of 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), for this operation near Long Tan, six miles east of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) base at Nui Dat.
