Melbourne, Vic. 12 February 1970. Wearing an Australian soldiers hat, actor John Banner `Sergeant Shultz' of the television series `Hogan's Heroes', learns the art of saluting from Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) Clarrie Crapper. Mr Banner was in Melbourne to promote the series, and the producers called in WO1 Crapper, Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), to help him brush up on a few technicalities.
