Portrait of 18548 Captain (Capt) James Douglas Campbell, a flying instructor with 1st Aviation Regiment, based at Amberley, Qld. Capt Campbell served in South Vietnam with the 161 Independent Reconnaissance Flight between September 1966 and September 1967 where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Capt Campbell also piloted the Bell 47, Sioux helicopter which is part of the National Collection held at the Australian War Memorial.
