Baria, South Vietnam. June 1971. The Director of the Army Nursing Service, Colonel P. M. McCarthy of Canberra, ACT (centre), spent six days in South Vietnam on a tour which included visits to Australian, American and Vietnamese hospitals. One of the places she visited was the maternity ward of the Baria hospital in Phuoc Tuy Province. With her are a Vietnamese nurse and a mother and her baby.
