Vung Tau, South Vietnam. 1968-12-26. Minister for Air, Gordon Freeth (right), visited the 1st Australian Field Hospital at Vung Tau during his Christmas visit to troops in Vietnam. He spoke to Sapper Graham Hooper of Balwyn, Vic, a member of the 1st Field Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), lying on a bed. Mr Freeth visited soldiers and airmen at the 1st Australian Task Force Base (1ATF) at Nui Dat, the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG) Base at Vung Tau and units in the field on operations. Note the Christmas tree beside them.
