Description
An aerial view of a DH9 bomber aircraft of 144 Squadron, which was forced to land owing to engine trouble in enemy territory east of the River Jordan after a bombing raid on Deraa. The pilot and observer (standing in front of the tailplane) have strips of cloth laying on the ground indicating to the leader of formation that it is impossible to land on this ground. The pilot and observer were afterwards captured by the Turks. The number '3' and white stripe on the fuselage indicates that the aircraft belongs to 144 Squadron.
