Private Montey Paul of Glen Huon, Tas, armed with a 7.62mm SLR rifle, moves cautiously down a jungle stream. He was one of four soldiers from D Company, 6RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), attached to a 400-strong Vietnamese Government battalion from the 18th Division of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN). The Australians and the Vietnamese were taking part in a five-day operation called Quyet Thang (we strive for victory) which was the culmination of six weeks intensive retraining of the 3/52 ARVN Battalion.
