Description
A six-man mobile advisory team, from 4RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising the 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), is stationed at the village of Dat Do. Corporal (Cpl) Peter Dawson of Ballarat, Victoria, gives a map reading lesson to the squad and section leaders of a Popular Force Platoon, Republic of Vietnam (RVN), using a model to explain the contour lines on a map. [Less than three weeks later, 38077 Cpl Peter Dawson, 4RAR, was killed in action on 7 March 1969 during a night ambush near Dat Do.]
