Early life; civilian nursing training at Royal Brisbane Hospital; enlisted 28 April 1965; describes living and working conditions at various postings; describes injuries of casualties from Vietnam while posted to the 2nd Military Hospital, Ingleburn NSW; attitude to Vietnam War; effect on nurses of service in Vietnam; posted to British Military Hospital in Singapore; describes working conditions, illnesses and patients treated in Singapore; uniforms; relationships between officers and other ranks; describes duties at Directorate of Army Nursing; attitude to nurses carrying arms, equal pay and male nurses; discusses life after her discharge on 28 April 1985 and the benefits of army service.
