Description
Two original diaries and a transcript of the diaries entitled "H.M.A.S. Nepal: 22 August - 10 November 1945" by Leading Supply Assistant, Bruce Langtry (S6622), Royal Australian Navy Reserve, HMAS Nepal. Describes the passage of the destroyer HMAS Nepal from its departure at Sydney in October 1944, its passage via Ceylon, Manus Island, Leyte Island, Philippines to Yokohama, Japan and the voyage back to Sydney returning November 1945. There is detailed description of Tokyo Bay and the city of Yokohama, Japan in the days following the Japanese Surrender Ceremony, September/October 1945. Photographs appear throughout the transcript.
