Vietnam. 1966-03-18. Helping hand for wounded Australian digger Private (Pte) Terry Johnstone of Grovely, Brisbane, Qld, from Pte John Foye of Terrant Park, Adelaide, SA, as he cools the wounded man's face with a sweat-rag after a fire fight with the Viet Cong in the jungles of War Zone D, South Vietnam, during Operation Silver City. Pte Johnston was wounded in the ankle by a Viet Cong bullet. He was carried by his mates for seven hours until a helicopter winched him from the ground and flew him to hospital. Both soldiers are members of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR).
