Description
Rabaul, New Guinea, 1940-09-28. The Administrator of the Mandated Territory of New Guinea, Brigadier-General Sir Walter McNicoll (centre, facing camera), and probably his ADC (on the right, also facing camera) talking to two guests at the London Relief Fete in the grounds of the BP (British Petroleum) Club, Rabaul. The fete was held on the Administrator's suggestion, and raised over 3,000 pounds for the relief of blitz damaged London.
