Professor Charles Patrick Fitzgerald at the first Australian Vietnam War teach-in, held at the Australian National University (ANU). The pipe-smoking academic was at the time a professor of Far Eastern History at ANU. The teach-in lasted approximately eight hours and various aspects of America's and Australia's involvement in Vietnam were discussed. The crowd, predominantly students, numbered about 800.
