Gorlitz, Germany. c. 1944-06. Group portrait of a soccer team comprising Allied Prisoners of War (POW) at Stalag VIIIA POW camp. This photograph was sent by Bombardier James Brill (front row centre holding a soccer ball) to his friend Lance Bombardier Lloyd Moule, 3rd Anti-Tank Regiment AIF, who had escaped from Italy to Rorschach, St Gallen, Switzerland. The other men are unknown. Note the wire fence and accommodation huts at rear.
