Rangoon, Burma, c. 1945-08. At Mingaladon airfield, three British officers (centre) await the arrival of two Japanese Mitsubishi Ki-57 'Topsy' transport aircraft (not in view) which are carrying Japanese envoys, including Lieutenant General Tokaza Numata, Chief of Staff of the Japanese South-East Asia Command, who are to surrender local Japanese forces in a formal signing ceremony. The two officers (right) are members of the British Army, while the other is a RAF officer. One of the Army officers (right) is raising a pair of binoculars to his eyes, and the other (centre) is leaning on a walking stick. Standing (left) and holding a flash camera is a RAF sergeant who is an official photographer. (Donor W. Mulford) (Original print held in AWM Archive Store)
