Kota Bharu, Malaya. 1941. The interior of the airmen's barracks at RAF Kota Bharu. Single beds are positioned along both walls, each with a foot locker. In the middle of the room is a trestle table with two benches. The RAAF had two General Reconnaissance Squadrons flying Lockheed Hudson aircraft in Malaya. No. 1 Squadron was stationed at RAF station Kota Bharu, No. 8 Squadron was stationed at RAF station Kuantan. The Squadrons were forced to retreat, along with the allied forces, in the face of the Japanese attack.
