Description

Alexandria, North Egypt. c. 1943. The Australian Comforts Fund, in conjunction with the Australian Red Cross, rented a villa for the special benefit of AIF repatriates from Germany. RAAF airmen on leave were guests enjoying themselves at a party drinking tea around a table laden with cakes and biscuits. Many happy evenings are spent in the villa. Musical evenings are sometimes given by residents of Alexandria, sometimes by the men themselves.
