Description
Australian and other Allied prisoners of war (POWs) on stage during a theatrical performance at Stalag IVB POW camp. This early show was set in a Cairo nightclub and many of the cast performed in later camp productions. Note the 14 piece orchestra (with instruments supplied by the Red Cross), the elaborate costumes and makeup worn by the female impersonators, and the detailed backdrop and set. (Donor N. McAlary)
